Lifespan by Country makes it easier to find one country’s figures and place them in context.
Each country report brings together the latest observation, female and male figures, a 30-year history and a same-year regional comparison. The aim is to make the question “What has changed?” as easy to answer as “What is the latest number?”
Our editorial approach
We use a single public statistical source, World Bank WDI, and identify the observation year and retrieval date. We explain what we calculate and preserve missing data. We do not infer the causes of country differences from a life expectancy table.
The site is independent of the World Bank, the United Nations and national statistical offices. It provides population statistics, not personal health advice.
